The Nook is a bedside table designed for the sleepy user!
Using one material, molding it to make a minimal and aesthetic side table. It has been designed to cater to the functional and sleepy user, aiming to minimize the number of actions a person would make to reach their end function. Something as simple as sliding in a book, to opening a drawer. However, aesthetically it also allows one to place the table in both modern as well as traditionally designed homes.
The top of the Nook has a raised chamfered edge, this edge prevents objects from rolling over, it also helps create an extended edge for the drawer that allows us to open it without any added struggle. Below the drawer is a shelf that is open on two sides, the front and the side facing the bed. This opening allows us to store away books or other items by simply lying down. Made of solid teak wood, the table uses the intricate skills of carpenters and a turner, with traditional techniques.
